One of the biggest fears for gamers is their console breaking or being destroyed in an accident. A PlayStation fan recently experienced this unfortunate situation when they lost their PS5 in a fire.

The Reddit user known as juman097 shared several photos showing their console completely destroyed by the fire. Despite the bad news, the player chose to take it with humor and asked the community an amusing question: "Do you think it will power on?"

That’s when other gamers who read the story started cracking jokes, mainly about the console's appearance, which was damaged, melted, and rendered useless by the heat of the flames.

Initially, juman097 only shared images of their console destroyed by the fire. The community started asking questions about what had happened, as many gamers were concerned and wanted to know if juman097 needed help.

The player explained that a fire broke out in their home due to a stove malfunction. They clarified that the appliance had been recalled due to a defect, but they were unaware and continued using it as usual.

"My recalled (unknown to me) Samsung stove cause electrical fire and burns the interior of the house."

As you can see in the image below, one of the items lost in the fire was their PlayStation 5. The console was completely destroyed, with its casing melted and likely severe internal damage due to the intense heat.

Despite the bad experience, juman097 kept a sense of humor and asked gamers if they thought the console might still work—a question with an obvious answer. The rest of the community joined in the humor to help lighten the mood.

Gamers joke about the melted PS5’s appearance

Following juman097’s question, the Reddit community didn’t hesitate to keep the humorous tone, coming up with various jokes. One user advised the player not to use the melted PS5 immediately, offering a tip: "Let it cool down first."

Another joked that the problem had a simple fix, saying: "Just get a new M.2 SSD, and it’ll work perfectly." A classic recommendation also came up: "Try putting it in rice." Lastly, some community members jokingly suggested maintenance, saying it was clear the console needed it: "You forgot to clean the vents."
