Last week, Aniplex, SEGA, and CyberConnect2 announced a new Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba game. The franchise's battles will return to consoles and PC, as the companies confirmed a sequel to The Hinokami Chronicles.
This morning, they revealed more details about the new installment, which will base its story on 3 popular arcs from the franchise. As expected, there will be new playable characters, and some of them were unveiled in the first trailer.
Another piece of good news is that the studios have also confirmed the platforms for the game's debut and its release window. With that said, you should know that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is set to launch next year.
New details revealed about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2
CyberConnect2 thrilled anime and manga fans by confirming that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be available sometime in 2025. As of now, there is no exact release date for the fighting game.
We know that the sequel will be playable on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam). The title will feature a story mode that picks up right where Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles left off.
The narrative will focus on three arcs: Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and Hashira Training. As a result, new playable characters will join the original roster from the first game.
There will also be a Versus mode offering thrilling battles between players and against AI. So far, no further details about additional content or new gameplay modes have been revealed. You can check out the trailer below:

What new characters will be in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2?
The companies revealed that the roster from the first game will be playable in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2. This means the sequel will include the 18 characters from the base roster, the demons from the free update, and more. The newly confirmed characters so far are:
