The celebrations for the 10th anniversary of Five Nights at Freddy's concluded yesterday with an unexpected surprise. Scott Cawthon, creator of the franchise, decided to treat the fans eagerly awaiting the new horror movie by offering a sneak peek that many found unusual.
What happened is that the creator published a part of the script of Five Nights at Freddy's 2, as if it were a leak. Specifically, he revealed a page that includes dialogues from various characters and reveals a section of the movie's story.
In reality, it was a challenge to wrap up the anniversary celebration, as Cawthon published the script page accompanied by three other fake ones. With this, he challenged the community to find the real script leak.
Scott Cawthon reveals a page of the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 script
The 10th anniversary of the franchise was supposed to close with the launch of the new game Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit. However, the title was released a day earlier in Japan due to a mishap. That’s when Cawthon decided to launch the game worldwide ahead of schedule, with the promise that he would find a way to finish the celebrations on a high note.
To the surprise and delight of all fans of the saga, the creator decided to publish a page of the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 script. Interestingly, he shared it on social media along with three other script pages that are fake and therefore not part of the movie.
“There is one more surprise before the day is over. We will be releasing one page from the actual Five Nights at Freddy's 2 movie screenplay! Of course, it might be more interesting if it were released alongside three fake screenplay pages. It will be up to the fanbase to figure out which page is real,” the creator stated.
Cawthon kept his word and published a total of four script pages. These include dialogues from characters like Vanessa, Abby, Mike, Toy Chica, among others. Fans debated for hours trying to determine which page was the real script; however, no consensus was reached.
Some believe that page 4 is the only one that belongs to the sequel, while others speculated that all four pages might be real and provide hints about Five Nights at Freddy's 2. Although no consensus was reached, fans believe it was a great way to end the 10th-anniversary celebrations. Remember, the new movie is set to debut at the end of 2025.
