The Seiken Densetsu franchise (Mana in the West) will finally return with a completely new game: Visions of Mana. The curious thing is that the ambitious project hasn't debuted yet—nor does it have a release date—but it's already one of the most played titles in Japan thanks to Xbox.
A few days ago, we informed you that Metaphor: ReFantazio managed to appear on the list of most played titles on Xbox in Japan despite not having debuted publicly in that country, and today we know that Square Enix is not behind with Visions of Mana.
Why is Visions of Mana one of the most played titles on Xbox in Japan?
In the list of popular Xbox games, Visions of Mana manages to appear at position 39, just below Metaphor: ReFantazio. The reason apparently is the same: Square Enix is already conducting private test sessions for Visions of Mana, which like Metaphor: ReFantazio is scheduled for release in 2024. This also confirms how few Xbox titles are played in Japan.
It's now common for any game coming to Xbox consoles in Japan to be among the most played even before its release thanks to its trial period. This wouldn't happen in any other region, but it does in Japan because so few users play on Xbox that games that haven't debuted yet have more trial players than those already available.
