Pokémon Scarlet and Violet had a disappointing launch, in case you haven’t heard, users are reporting a ridiculous amount of errors; bugs, glitches, fps drops to incomprehensible numbers, you name it, these types of problems have been ruining players’ game experience.
However, from a business point of view, the game is breaking records in sales specifically in the UK, as today was reported that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the biggest boxed game launch of the year, with opening week sales up 4% compared with the former first place of the year FIFA 23.

Big numbers
That is not all, Scarlet and Violet is also the second biggest Pokémon launch of all time, behind Pokémon Sun and Moon which was released in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS, it sold 16.29 million copies all around the world with an opening week of 1.9 million copies in Japan, 1.5 million in Europe and 3.7 million in America.
Actually, Scarlet and Violet actually generated more money during its launch week compared with Sun and Moon, mainly thanks to the big presence of the Switch console in households.

Now speaking of how each version is performing, it has been reported that the Violet version accounted for 52% of sales, while Scarlet accounted for 42%, and the double pack featuring both games made up the remaining 6%.
Remember that all these numbers are only for the physical versions and we are yet to know the performance of the digital version.
